Wren Modern/Traditional White Shaker Kitchen - Fitting.

Saturday 29 June 2013

So today I started painting the walls i can, the walls that the actual kitchen is on has to have the wall rebuilt and brought out to reach the cooker so that will need re-plastering...so that has to be painted last. The kitchen is full of stuff at the moment which is making it hard but hopefully I can do a lot more tomorrow, i may also paint my table!

The tiles i want are called Metro White Brick Wall Tiles.

:) What do you think?
We bought our Kitchen from Wren Kitchens. It cost £2000.

DIY Shabby Chic Dining Table: Part 1

Hello!

I have really really got into the whole shabby chic decor style. The thing about shabby chic as it's an excuse to go White!
I've always been a fan of simple black and white, plain design. Then adding your own personal touch...especially plants!! A house isn't a home without plants.

Today we bought a six seater table. £100 + £20 Delivery.

So this is my Shabby Chic Project!
I've seen the same table on ebay, but it's painted a green colour, mine will be white.

Here are some more examples, but i think i'd want them fully white rather than dark wood top...

So, i have my table, i have my Annie Sloan paint...just need to start!

It's arrived!

Annie Sloan White Chalk Paint.

Sunday 23 June 2013

Hi Guys, I have recently purchased (online) some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I haven't yet received it so this isn't a review (although i do plan to do one) But i have heard so many good things about it i thought i'd share!

Some of the Reasons Chalk Paint® is So Good!

Annie Sloan's unique decorative paint, Chalk Paint®, is a very special paint for very many reasons:

1. Chalk Paint® is the BEST paint for painting furniture by a long way
2. No need to prime or prepare
3. Extremely low VOC so it is good for the environment
4. You can use it on any surface, indoors and out (the outside of our shop was painted in it -- perfect!)
5. You can use the paint by diluting it with water to make a wash to show the wood grain
6. The colours are mixed intelligently and the website shows how you can adapt your colours for your use
7. It's a girls' paint, but boys can use it too
8. It's flexible so you can be creative and change your mind
9. It allows your walls to breathe so it is perfect for cottage walls
10. You can use it as an impasto (thickly) - leave the lid off to thicken
11. We've been making it since 1990 so it's tried and tested

I really Can't wait to use it, i plan to shabby chic a dining room table...I love these two tips:

Get ready table, i plan to buy you and paint youuuuuuu........

House update....kinda

I thought i'd post a few pictures i've taken over the past week.

Today i went to the house to paint the fire surround:

It's only the first coat but i have recently purchased some Annie Sloan white Chalk paint that i plan to use painting a dining room table shabby chic but may also use on this fire.

I also recently bought a set of cupboards (which i don't have a picture of at the moment) but iit looks like the square storage at the bottom of this picture except its a row of 4, then 3, then 2, then 1. I plan to separate the boxes and make them blocks of two...they'll be  something similar to the picture below (for my much needed shoe storage).
This will go in the dressing room.

Soon it will be time to pick our laminate wood flooring. I want dark wood throughout downstairs. I love dark wood and white walls!! You only have to look at my tumblr to realise this! hehe. Anyway i saw these two in BnQ...big price difference isn't there!

Rick's dad has been working on our garden whilst we've been at work, the front garden is looking a lot neater and presentable, the back garden is our dumping ground at the minute but i needed to show the ivy off! I love Ivy.

Paint testers, i really cannot wait to start painting.

And to finish off, how beautiful is this??!!

Face off!

Sunday 16 June 2013

Hello, here are pictures off my phone of what i've been getting upto...
If anyone is a follower of my instagram will have probably seen all these. But oh well.
  • I recently did Race for Life, I personally have lost a lot of family to cancer and my Grandad is currently fighting it. I did the run (or jog/walk) in 55 mins :)
  • There is a picture of me there with a wall behind me, this is my house, in the process of being repaired.
  • Bottom left is me and my cousin in Newcastle, that was a great night out!
  • Bottom right is me and my friend Lucy at our friend Jenna's for drinks and girly gossip night

The rest are just randoms, i can't remember when i took them, i think the flowers one was a couple of weekends ago (BGT final day) and the very top right was yesterday.

A few photo's from the house....

A little update on the progress of the house... The radiators and boiler are being put in. It looks a complete mess, I really can't wait for it to be finished!!!

The bath is in too...

And also a new bannister and spindle rail...
