I want to go Brunette to Ginger!

Sunday, 27 March 2016

I was watching Youtube a few days ago, browsing tutorials etc and came across MsRosieBea and my god her hair is gorgeous!!

I couldn't stop looking at it. I've always loved that rich gingery red colour. I think it's beautiful. But if your not blessed with it naturally it's so hard to maintain. I want to give it a go though.

I have used Jerome Russell Bblonde Highlighting Kit to lighting the bottom half of my hair. I'm going to put a ginger dye on tomorrow. I don't know what it's going to turn out like.

I like these colours (on the left) Surprisingly i love the ginger tones more than the red.

Check out my "Hair" Pinterest collection:

I will update tomorrow...

So I decided to go to Tesco and buy this dye..

Vidal Sassoon- Intense red copper. I also go that one behind it just incase I didn't like how it turned out. But actually I was really happy with the outcome.the picture don't do it justice it's so bright and nice in real life. I love it.

Before: my hair was brunette. I had been using the casting crime gloss in Chocolate brownie.
Next I used the heroine Russell bblonde to highlight the ends and middle of my hair so that the ginger would stand out more:

And then the day after I applied the copper due by VS.

It looks great in real life. I think I will use this dye again when it's ready for a top up :)

UPDATE:

So after the first wash quite a lot of dye disappeared. I guess that's normal due to it being orange/red tones. But I left it for the week and by yesterday (Friday) it was like this...

Which is still a nice colour but obviously I wish it was more vibrant. When it's straight the two tone is a bit too obvious so I decided to put the other dye on this morning.. The loreal 6.45 in Brooklyn. I love how it turned out.

It really annoys me how it photographs because in real life it's so so good.

I'm sure it'll fade after the first wash but this hair dye kit comes with a tube for topping up the colour on the 3rd and 6th week! That's pretty cool. Maybe I'll update to let you know how that turns out.

New Year, New Decor!

Friday, 12 February 2016
I'm getting itchy feet in my house at the moment. When we moved in around two and a half years ago we painted every wall white. At the time it did make the house look clean, new and big. And i still like it, but my living room needs an update. Its white walls and brown wooden flooring were complimented by neutral furnishings but it just feel boring now.

I want to definatley update my curtains, so i can use my current living room curtains for my bedroom, and my bedroom ones for my dressing room (which currently has a bedsheet as a curtain - don't ask)

So i'm thinking a silver/grey theme and i want to find some good wallpaper too!

I found these curtains:

I also love these....

If i decided to stay neutral id have these, with the lamp below:

I just need some money now! (:

There's no day quite like a Snow Day!

Sunday, 17 January 2016
There is nothing better than a snow day, especially a snow day on a weekend!!

Rivington (Winter Hill)

It was so cold and windy at the top of Rivington, my cousin did a bit of sledging and then we all decided it was too cold for the kids so we came home. I was a little disappointed so i made a Snowman.

 Simba enjoying his first snow!

Meet Simba!..the new addition to our family.

Oh my, it has been forever since i posted here!! I need to sort this out, and what better way than to show you our new kitten/cat.
One day, around October time, i was scrolling through Facebook and the local pet shop had posted pictures of their new kittens. I spotted a ginger one! I have always wanted a ginger kitten (i also really wanted a grey one!) and as soon as i saw the picture, i fell in love.
I tagged my fella in the picture and said 'pretty please?' never thinking he would say yes!

There was no response from him initialy, but he had 'liked' my comment. The next morning whilst at work he text me about the kitten asking if it was male or female. I told him they had one of each but id prefer a male, because Lola is female and im sure two females fight. No reply. Then about an hour later i got a picture message and a note saying 'He's coming home tonight'  Eeeeekkkk!!! I was so thirllled. So so happy.

Meet Simba!

As you can see on the bottom picture, he arrived with fleas falling off him. The pet shop had given him treatment in front of my fella. So the first evening with him was spent picking fles and squashing them. Lovely!

We tried to introduce the cats as well as we could, but Lola hated him. We kept them in separate rooms when they were unsupervised and eventually they calmed down. I sometimes catch them grooming each other ;)

 Little Simba
 Friends?
Lola loving the box bed and Simba loving the cardboard scratcher (i would reccomend these to any cat owner!!)

He does follow her like a shadow and has recently been trying to 'seduce her' - yeah, thats what we will call it. But my god she squeals when he tries to jump on her.

I'm glad Lola has a friend though, even if at times she probably wishes she doesn't. But now when we are at work all day and maybe have to get home late, i know she won't be lonely.
